Dr. Simpson named interim Chair, Radiology

I am very pleased to announce that Emma Simpson, MD has accepted the position of Interim Chair, Department of Radiology at Main Line Health, effective immediately. Dr. Simpson succeeds Harry Zegel, MD, who has retired after serving in this role since 2005. Under Dr. Zegel’s leadership, the Department of Radiology has provided well coordinated, advanced imaging and diagnostic services to patients across the System, and we wish him all the best in his retirement.


Dr. Simpson has been serving as Chief of Radiology, Bryn Mawr Hospital, since 1998 and is the immediate past President of the Bryn Mawr Hospital Medical Staff. In her new role, Dr. Simpson will be responsible for overseeing the services and clinicians in Radiology across all MLH campuses.


Dr. Simpson, who is board certified in Radiology, has authored numerous journal articles on radiology. She is a graduate of Earlham College in Indiana and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Simpson completed her residency in Radiology and a fellowship in Ultrasound, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.


Dr. Simpson’s 24-year tenure at Bryn Mawr Hospital, clinical expertise and medical staff leadership roles will enable MLH to continue to provide a superior patient experience. Please join me and the rest of the MLH leadership in welcoming Dr. Simpson into her new role at MLH.
