Bland is first Licensed Clinical Social Worker on SHP Staff

After a review of Pennsylvania licensure requirements, the MLH Quality and Patient Safety Committee in May approved “Licensed Clinical Social Worker” as a new class in the MLH Specified Health Professionals (SHP) Staff category. This month, Women’s Emotional Wellness Center Program Manager Liz Bland, MSW, LCSW, becomes the first to be granted MLH privileges in the SHP category.  The privileges allow Bland to perform psychotherapy at Main Line Health’s hospitals.

Other members of the SHP staff include physician assistants, nurse practitioners, midwives, psychologists, optometrists and nurse anesthetists.

The Women’s Emotional Wellness Center, located in the Main Line Health Center in Newtown Square, provides outpatient mental health therapy services to women and their families before, during and after pregnancy or adoption, and also accepts women for treatment who are outside the perinatal period on a case by case basis.
