Dr. Saidi named Section Chief, Geriatrics

Firas Saidi, MD, has been appointed the System Section Chief of Geriatrics in the Department of Medicine, effective March 5, 2015.  As Section Chief, he will help the Department of Medicine educate residents and students, promote quality care, and support inpatient, outpatient and post-acute geriatric care initiatives within our system.


Dr. Saidi has been a member of Main Line HealthCare since 2004 and is the Medical Director of the Transitional Care Center at Lankenau Medical Center, as well as other local retirement communities, where he also serves as a board member for two of them. He is currently a board member of The Pennsylvania Society for Post-acute and Long-term Care Medicine and chairs the annual symposium committee. He had been involved with several key initiatives and committees to improve geriatric care at the system level. He was named top doctor in geriatrics by Main Line Today.
Dr. Saidi received his MD from Al-Nahrain University in Baghdad, Iraq. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ, where he also served as Chief Resident. Subsequently, he completed a Fellowship in Geriatrics at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Saidi is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.
