Thursday evening, Lankenau Medical Center VPMA and Chief of Nephrology Robert Benz, MD, was honored at the annual National Kidney Foundation NKF Honors Awards Reception with its Excellence in Care Award for his tireless advocacy on behalf of kidney patients and their families. Among those at the reception honoring Dr. Benz (center) were Margie Iacobacci, LMC vice president, Patient Services (left), and Greg Papa, LMC Human Resources director.
He also serves as Nephrology Fellowship Program Director, a member of the ACGME Internal Medicine Residency Review Committee representing the American Society of Nephrology, and Professor of Medicine at the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research and Thomas Jefferson University.
“Dr. Benz has volunteered countless hours with the National Kidney Foundation through participation in our free community kidney health screenings, World Kidney Day events, and has served on our local Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Committee,” said the Foundation’s Executive Director, Cristin Naab. “We are very excited to be recognizing the work and dedication of Dr. Benz at our NKF Honors Awards Reception.”
