At BMH: Interventional Radiology Meds in MAK

Submitted by Debra Laumer, director, Clinical Informatics, and Kelly Ann Zazyczny, nurse manager, BMH Interventional Radiology, Pediatrics, and IV Team

Effective May 10, 2016, the Bryn Mawr Hospital Interventional Radiology Unit patients will have medications documented in the MAK (Medication Administration Check) electronic documentation system.  This implementation will allow patient and medication identification through bar code scanning to improve patient safety and clinical communications through technology.

Please be sure to reference medications given in Interventional Radiology in the MAK system from May 10 and going forward.
