PA medical license renewal deadline

By Marie VanBuskirk, Director, Medical Staff Services

A reminder to all physicians that you must renew your Pennsylvania medical license this year.  The MD and DPM licenses will expire on December 31, 2016.

Also, under Act 31 Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting, you are required to complete the minimum of 2 hours of credit for child abuse recognition and reporting.  A license will not be renewed unless the Department of State receives proof, submitted directly and electronically by the approved course provider, of the required continuing education.  This process can take up to seven days.   Licenses will only be renewed if the required continuing education is received directly and electronically from the approved course provider.

Below is the link to the PA.gov website which lists all of the Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting courses that are accepted including those taken in person and others which can be done on-line.

The following link is to the University of Pittsburgh’s website, which is an accepted online course, is free, and which many in MLH have used to comply with obtaining their credits.
