Dr. Kaulback succeeds Dr. Fried as Paoli Hospital Chief of Surgery

The Department of Surgery leadership is pleased to announce that Kris Kaulback, MD, System Chief of Acute Care Surgery, will assume the duties of Campus Chief of Surgery at Paoli Hospital on May 1, 2017.

 

Dr. Kaulback succeeds Robert Fried, MD, in this role.

 

Dr. Fried joined the surgical team at Paoli Hospital in May 1987. Over the past 30 years, he has been instrumental in the development of the high quality surgical services performed at Paoli Hospital. In addition to serving as the Campus Chief of Surgery, a role which he entered in 2005, he is the Vice President for Medical Affairs at Paoli Hospital and will continue to serve in that role. We are appreciative of Bob’s tireless service to the Department and the Health System. We thank him for the decades of his service to surgical programs.

 

Kris Kaulback is a trauma surgeon and Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University. He was instrumental in the development of the Level II Trauma Center at Paoli Hospital. He has been the chief of the trauma program at Paoli since its inception in November 2009. In July 2016, he was appointed System Chief of Acute Care Surgery for Main Line Health System. He is actively engaged in the surgery CEW, quality and safety initiatives, and PE 2020. We congratulate Kris on his new leadership role within our System.
