Welcome: Karrie Borgelt, Senior Vice President for Development, MLH

By Jack Lynch, MLH president and CEO

I am very excited to announce the appointment of Karrie Borgelt as Main Line Health’s new Senior Vice President for Development. Karrie succeeds Ken Kirby, who retired from Main Line Health this past July. Karrie will officially join us in her new role in late October.

As SVP for Development, Karrie will oversee the creation, planning, implementation, and management of all programs to maximize philanthropic income for MLH and its hospitals, programs and services. Karrie will also serve as MLH’s senior executive to support the planning for and operations of the Governance Affairs Committee of MLH’s Board of Governors.

Karrie has nearly 20 years of experience in leading effective and results-driven fundraising campaigns in health care and higher education. Most recently, Karrie served as Chief Development Officer at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, where she oversaw a team of 26 to raise more than $14 million annually. Previously, she was the Director of Major Gifts at the Abramson Cancer Center, Penn Medicine. Before entering health care, Karrie held leadership positions in alumni relations at Cornell University and Drew University.  She holds a BA in Psychology from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY.

Known for her collaborative spirit and remarkable abilities to energize and inspire her team, volunteers and donor base, Karrie is very much looking forward to joining the talented Development team in place at MLH as they continue their history of record breaking philanthropic cultivation and fundraising. Looking ahead, Karrie will be working with our foundations, our staff, our grateful patients and our community to further develop a strong pipeline of potential donors for the patient care, research, and educational programs and services provided across our System.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the Development team across MLH for their powerful commitment to our organization each day. Collectively, this team has established exceptionally meaningful relationships with some of our region’s most generous philanthropists, helping to advance MLH’s mission of improving the health and quality of life for all in the communities we serve. On behalf of the MLH team, we thank you for your passion and incredibly hard work.

Undoubtedly, Karrie’s keen expertise, infectious enthusiasm and energetic personality will be a tremendous addition to our Senior Leadership team. Please join me in welcoming Karrie to the MLH family.
