Welcome Dr. John Potts, assistant chief medical information officer

By Don Klingen, MD, chief medical information officer, MLH

The Clinical Informatics team has a welcome addition at Main Line Health. Dr. John Potts is joining our team as the assistant CMIO. Dr. Potts has over 18 years of clinical experience and trained at the Chicago College of Osteopathic medicine and did his family medicine residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

As one of the physicians who struggled with his health systems’ conversion to an EMR several years ago, he decided to get involved and work directly with the build team. Consequently, Dr. Potts is physician build certified in Epic Ambulatory, Healthy Planet and Analytics and served as an associate medical director of Clinical Informatics. He is very familiar with the role of facilitating clinical needs to the build team and brings a lot of Epic expertise to the table.

In addition to his clinical and technical background, Dr. Potts has served in a leadership capacity to help his organization adapt to practice transformation and quality programs such as CPC+.

Primarily focused on ambulatory care, Dr. Potts will also be involved in our MyChart, Epic Care link, Community Connect and Analytic initiatives.

He will be seeing patients as a Main Line HealthCare physician. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Potts to the team.
