STEEEP Huddle: E for Efficient

This week’s STEEEP Huddle topic – contributed by Steve Czapla director, IT Customer Service, focuses on the Remote Access Multi-Factor Authentication Upgrade. As of January 9, MLH Information Technology will be upgrading our Multi-Factor Authentication process that is used to verify users who are remotely attempting to access our systems. This upgrade will replace the use of “PhoneFactor” which generated a phone call and required the user to press the “#” key. A unique six digit authentication code via text will be sent to your cell phone. That code will need to be entered each time you are trying to remotely enter an MLH system. This upgrade is necessary to ensure that we are using security best practices to keep MLH safe. If you use a cell phone, no need to do anything at this time. Landline users need to complete process by January 9 deadline. If you experience an issue when attempting to change your phone number or if you have any questions, please contact the MLH IT Service Desk at 484.596.HELP (4357).
