This week’s STEEEP Huddle – contributed by Grace Wummer, clinical director, Senior Services, MLH, focuses on World Delirium Day on March 13. Delirium is a serious, temporary state of confusion that can sometimes occur in older adults during hospitalization. Main Line Health is taking steps to prevent this condition. Nurses will be screening older adults for delirium and encourage patients and families to be present, early mobilization, undisturbed sleep and conversation during daylight hours. To better understand the delirium patient experience, view this brief video: https://vimeo.com/199365094 and education material and education material https://pe.elsevier.com/503puqe.
