Run / Walk Tracking Apps

I wanted to share an app that I have recently discovered, Nike+ GPS for the iPhone.  This app is amazing for tracking runs and walks using the iPhone’s built-in GPS and accelerometer.  Activate the app before your walk or run, and it will track your distance traveled, average pace, calories burned, and so much more.  It tracks your data over time so you can compare past sessions, and actually pushes you to try to beat your previous records and distances so that you keep improving.  It even has famous athletes that will occasionally chime-in with some encouraging or congratulatory words!

If you’re using an Android phone, great examples of comparable apps are RunKeeper and Runstar.  If you don’t have a smartphone, a good pedometer is always a great tool for tracking exercise and daily steps taken!
